Advanced Character New Pose

Finally get around to finish rigging this model back in Maya. I truly hate painting skin weight T_T…… So after around 8 months later, I finally finish this model with a pose and render.Β  Looking at it I certainly would like to further model some of the parts and add more detail to it. I will definitely have to get back to it when I have time…..Time to get back to Random zbrushing next week πŸ˜›

Random Zbrushing – Tuesday – Android Part 7

unnamed7Hello zbrusher, it’s been awhile since last update. I have been quite busy with the freelance work…usually staying up too late and ended up not able to work on any zbrush project.

Anyway, so I am back today and it’s tuesday android day πŸ™‚Β  Today I was mostly focusing on the face, I really want to get it as close to the reference as possible. I went back down to lower division and readjust the face structure. Looking at it now side by side, I think I am still pretty far off. I finish off render it in zbrush and put together in photoshop. Here are some of parts I will definitely need to address next time I’m working on this dude,

  • Definitely need to open up the eye area more. Right now it’s too narrow.
  • Cheek bone need more curvature toward downward. Gravity effects!!
  • Eye bag need to be a bit more indent inward and sack.Β  Again gravity effects!!!
  • Structure of the face need to be readjust more.Β  Need to be more squeeze inward. Flow the curve of the face on the right side of the reference.
  • the glabella need to be tighter.
  • supraobital process(eyebrow bone area) and the frontal bone/forhead have a better change of direction. It’s more curvature in the reference too.
  • Nose need to be a touch thinner and longer.
  • Frontal process of maxilla section have a clear cut of change direction in between the nasal bone in the concept not in the render.
  • minor alar cartilage have a cut of change direction, little off in the render.
  • lips need to be wider
  • hair need more variation in there, up and down
  • Mech of the ear need more detail
  • Jacket need to be refine and look more like the concept.

Random Zbrushing – Tuesday – Android Part 6

unnamed7Hello Zbrusher, Welcome to May πŸ˜€ Haven’t get much of sleep these days, so still haven’t have much time to do sculpting. However,Β  I manage to get around half an hour today morning to sculpt a little bit.

So today we are back to the android dude today. It’s been quite sometime since last time I work on him. I started first to adjust the face a bit more to further match the concept. I think the face is still too wide, probably need to slim down the cheek another 30% or so. I definitely need to start work on the the mech neck area….I been trying to avoid to do much of modification on it. But I think it’s getting close to time to start working on it…..hopefully I can get some extra time next week to work on it πŸ™‚



Random Zbrushing Friday – Tiger Monster – Part 2

284_maxHello zbrusher!, It’s friday!!!! woo~ woo~ Although it’s the weekend, I still have to work on my freelance gig at home. I think I never mentioned, but beside my regular job I also create 3D medical animation for presentation use. So For this month, I have to create 2 animation and they both need to be done by June. So it’s going to be a challenge to do that and do these zbrush. I have been trying to, but it’s pretty tough. I think the most difficult part is trying to pick up where you left off last week. Especially with freelance job on the side, my mind can only fit so much. Anyway, I ended up suffering and trying to figured out what I need to do.

So here today, we are back to the tiger monster, it was especially challenging for me to pick this one up since I wasn’t able to work on it last week. So it’s been 2 weeks since last time I sculpt this dude. So I pretty much spending most of my time re-adjusting the model and sculpting everywhere. Sort of lost and doodling everywhere……you will see in the youtube video 😦 Anyway it’s the weekend!! enjoy it πŸ˜€


Random Zbrushing – Thursday – Cowboy Part 5

389_largeHellllo… schedule have been quite messed up due to late night freelance work. It was a real challenge to wake up early in the morning and sculpt. In any case, I did woke up on the Thursday to work on the cowboy, not as much as I wanted to. But hey it make a difference. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to post this yesterday, but hey I’m here today πŸ™‚

So first thing I decided to work on is the vest. I wasn’t quite sure which direction I should go, whether is re-dynamesh the object or zremesh the object. On top of that, since the mesh front and back is really close to one another, it create hole when you re-mesh it.Β  So I have to clean that part out. Then I further add in the wrinkle on the vest. I kept telling myself that it’s leather material so it shouldn’t create such hard line. So I kept using dam-standard to draw in hard line and smooth it out.Β  Then I move on to add wrinkle to the shirt, pants, and add in the belt buckle. I only have around 30 mins to sculpt. Although it’s short, it’s always good to just sculpt πŸ™‚


Random Zbrushing – Monday – Fish Creature Part 2

878_maxHere we go another week! Last week of April!!!!! oooo men, time just fly by fast. Looking at it, I been doing random zbrushing a month already!! And I already have some of pretty cool work in progress model. Cant wait to finish the model πŸ™‚

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get time once again last friday, due to some late night works. However, today is a completely different case!!!! Although I did work until 2am in the morning. I still suck it up to wake up around 7 and work for like an hour before work πŸ˜‰ As much as I want to do a lot, due to lack of sleepΒ  I didn’t really have a clear idea what I am doing with this model. Although I have some idea about the fin, but the body is a bit tricky. Which I ended up spending quite a lot of amount of times…..Gonna give it a better try next week :/

Random Zbrushing – Thursday – Cowboy edition 4

389_large Random Zbrush Thursday, We are back to the cowboy today πŸ™‚ I start off the day with modifying the hand, then hat, the shirt, and add some additional pieces. I think the model is coming along quite well. The body seems still a little off, the concept’s body is a bit more wider. Same thing to the hand, the hand itself is much bigger. The pose also look a little more lean forward. I will have to adjust that next week πŸ™‚
